Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria Screening Service

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria Screening Service

In agricultural farming, in order to reduce soil-borne diseases and reduce soil pressure, people use crop rotation, use of fungicides, crop genetic improvement, biological control and other methods to ensure crop yields. Among various approaches, the use of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) has attracted a lot of attention.

PGPR can improve plant growth, yield, and stress tolerance of crops, and can be used as biofertilizers and bio-pesticides. They are an important part of ensuring the sustainable development of ecological agriculture. CD BioSciences provides an advanced technology platform for pathogenic bacteria screening service, contributing to discover more PGPR. Our MicroScanTM technology platform is development to meet customer's personalized customization needs.

Biological Activity of PGPR

PGPR live in soil or epiphyte on plant roots. They can promote plant growth and the absorption and utilization of mineral nutrients, and can inhibit the beneficial bacteria of harmful organisms.

Some bacteria in PGPR can directly or indirectly promote plant growth and development. For example, Bacillus subtilis, Bradyrhizobium japonicum and Pseudomonas fluorescens can produce auxins, and Alcaligenes faecalis can inhibit pathogenic fungi. The main biological activities of PGPR are shown in the table.

Production of PhytohormoneProduction of Phytohormone
Nutrition TransformationsNutrition Transformations
PGPR can produce a variety of plant hormones, such as growth hormone, gibberellin, cytokinin, etc. These hormones are further absorbed by plants and used to promote plant growth and development. Certain PGPR bio-transform nutrients from the air and soil into nutrients that can be used by plants. An example is the conversion of nitrogen in the air into ammonia that can be taken up by plants.
Production of antibioticsProduction of Antibiotics
Enhance Plant ResistanceEnhance Plant Resistance
Some PGPR can produce antibiotics, which have the effect of inhibiting pathogenic fungi and pathogenic bacteria, protecting the health of the host plant. PGPR enhances the resistance of host plants to unfavorable external environments by secret signaling substances that induce or promote the expression of host genes.

Our Service

Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria screening service is an important part of probiotic research and directly related to applications. Conventional method is to isolate bacterial from plants or soil, and then perform drug susceptibility testing. It spends a lot of time and energy. We provide MicroScanTM platform for plant growth promoting rhizobacteria screening in a high-throughput manner. By this method, a lot of labor and material resources are saved to help scientific research.

CD BioSciences provides screening services to discover bacteria that can promote the growth of the plant growth promoting rhizobacteria. And these discovered bacteria can be developed as probiotics.
