MicroScanTM

MicroScanTM

Bacteria are the organisms that make up the largest proportion of microorganisms. In a microbial community, each microbial interacts with and influences other members of the community. Understanding the nature and impact of these interactions is essential to improving the performance of these ecosystems. These ecosystems are important in a variety of processes, including biological waste treatment processes, water pollution control, industrial fermentation, and human or animal digestion processes.

For human beings, microorganisms have an indispensable role in ecological agriculture and health. CD BioSciences is a leading global biological company. We offer the advanced MicroScanTM technology platform for the study of any bacteria. This technology platform can be used in agriculture, industry, medicine and other fields to advance science.

What is MicroScanTM

As microbiome research progresses, new screening tools are being developed to explore microbial interactions. MicroScanTM is a technique that relates the observed cell or community phenotype to bacterial communication. The technique is unfolded based on Microwell recovery arrays that enable thousands of microbial combinations to be screened simultaneously. Bacterial growth is random when cells are confined to small micropores less than 100 μm in diameter. This allows microwell arrays to mimic natural states and is an important technique for studying the effects of heterogeneous microenvironments on bacterial growth and competition.

How Dose MicroScanTM Work

MicroScanTM co-cultures labeled target strains with strains or combinations of strains to be tested. The number of labeled strains is monitored during the incubation period as well as correlation analysis, which reveals interacting combinations, such as significantly higher numbers of indicator strains. At the end of the co-culture period, wells that meet expectations are selected for strain recovery and the experiment continues to the next step.

What Can MicroScanTM Do?

The MicroScanTM technology platform can be used to examine interactions across the microbial flora to identify higher-order strain combinations that inhibit or promote the function of indicator strains. CD BioSciences provides bacterial screening services related to human, plant, and marine. Importantly, based on this technology platform, we also offer screening services for compounds related to bacteria.
